On May 25, 2020 Director Sun Ying of tourism and Culture Department of Hainan province led a team to investigate HPB’s International Gold Diamond Jewelry Industrial Park
In order to promote Hainan industry-themed cultural tourism, accelerate integrative development of wedding industry and diamond jewelry industry, and actively implement the spirit of Hainan’s Deputy Provincial Governor Shen Xiaoming's instructions in the Research Report on the Development Strategy of Hainan's Diamond Industry issued by the Department of Commerce, Director Sun Ying of Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports led a delegation to HPB’s international diamond jewelry industrial park in Haikou Free Trade Zone for investigation and survey.
Accompanied by Lu Min, Secretary of Working Committee and Director of Administration Committee of Haikou Free Trade Zone, Xu Liang, Deputy Director of Administration Committee of Haikou Free Trade Zone, Wu Jian, Deputy County Head of Chengmai County, and Cen Jun, Director of the County Bureau of Tourism and Culture, Sun Ying and her delegation listened carefully to the report of Zhang Baojun, GM of HPB on its corporate business, and visited the site of National Gemstone Testing Center, HPB’s Diamond Show Room and Exhibition Center. Director Sun Ying and her team got a thorough understanding of jewelry inspection In NGTC’s laboratory, and inquired about the whole industrial chain from rough diamond import, loose diamond processing and diamond jewelry manufacturing and etc. to know present diamond sale price and current sales mode inside and outside Haikou FTZ.
Director Sun Ying required the Division Chief in charge of all-for-one tourism scenic spot planning and domestic festival activities to get connection with HPB’s management at once, assisting in planning HPB’s Diamond Jewelry Industrial Park as an International Diamond Jewelry Industry-themed Cultural Scenic Spot and leading in tourists. She also demanded to integrate the whole-island travel wedding industry into HPB’s Diamond Jewelry Industry, to make 500,000 lovers coming to Hainan to enjoy policy benefits of buying diamond jewelry without paying any tax. It aims to further build Hainan Island into a "Love Island plus Diamond island", making Hainan a "Paradise Island" for marriage couples to enjoy honeymoon in China.
